Crompion International announced one executive promotion and three key leadership hires to support global growth.

Crompion International LLC has promoted one executive and hired three others as part of efforts to expand its global presence into South America, Africa, Mexico and the Philippines.

Ken Grantham, director of technical sales and services, has been promoted to the newly created role of executive vice president, the Baton Rouge, La.-based specialty stainless steel producer said.

Metals engineering consultant Bob Whipple has been hired as vice president of engineering, Angel Proaño joins the company as vice president of international sales and Dave Carter will serve as sales manager.

The hires "support its recently completed brand transformation," which is partially designed to expand the company's global presence, Crompion said.

South America, east and west Africa, Mexico and the Philippines will be the primary targets in the company's global expansion plan, a company spokesman told AMM.

The company said Proaño and Carter will play a key role in introducing Crompion to a worldwide base of clients.

"We are eager to increase both domestic and international sales of our new, innovative grades and products, and both men will bring something new to the team that will help us better serve our customers and achieve our goals," Crompion president George M. Schaffer said in a statement.

Crompion had been known as American Utility Metals LLC until its rebranding in November.
