Carnival Tea at Salon by Sucré

It’s countdown to Fat Tuesday here in New Orleans and there is no shortage of excitement as we make our way to the big day on February 13th. Since Twelfth Night, splashes of purple, green, and gold sparkle among the city. Stands are slowly being erected on parade routes. And everyone is getting their daily king cake fix. With Krewe du Vieux kicking off this weekend, the Bond krewe is getting pumped.

Beginning on King's Day, our friends over at Salon by Sucré launched their Carnival Tea, and we couldn’t be more excited for the return of this fun, New Orleans twist on their regular high tea. Locals and travelers alike can experience a menu of savory, baked, and sweet delicacies along with an array of tea selections. Between the mini muffalettas and shrimp remoulade baby po-boys, they’ve got some of our favorite New Orleans-inspired dishes covered. No need to grab that box of Popeyes. They even offer a fried chicken sandwich on this special seasonal menu. YUM. No tea would be complete without an arrangement of goodies to get your sweet tooth in high gear. With award-winning Chef Tariq Hanna at the helm, you know he won’t steer you wrong. From currant scones and pecan madeleines to Mardi Gras macrons and carnival chocolates, the menu features a mix of high tea classics and Hanna’s Mardi Gras version of our old favorites.

The meal isn’t complete without Sucré’s incredibly-delicious king cake that’s almost too beautiful to eat. Almost.
